Our Mission

DAK Baseball Training Center provides an environment where ball players of all ages and skill-levels can thrive. Our instructors have a tremendous passion for the great game of baseball and will use their wealth of knowledge to help players reach their full potential. DAK is also well equipped with state of the art equipment and technology. At DAK Baseball Training Center, the focus will always be 100% on the individual’s improvement. Our mission is to develop well-rounded and confident baseball players in a setting that is enjoyable and provides all their player development needs.

Owners/Instructors

Dan Kubacki

Dan Kubacki brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the DAK Baseball Training Center. Dan played college baseball at the University of Toledo where he played Catcher and Third base.  When his playing career ended Kubacki accepted an Assistant Coaching position at California University of PA where he coached hitting and individual position play.  Kubacki was then offered an opportunity to coach in the Big Ten as an assistant coach at Indiana University where he coached Pitchers and Catchers and worked as Recruiting Coordinator.  In 1992 Kubacki was named the Head Baseball Coach at Youngstown State University where he served as the Head Coach through 1998.  During Kubacki's tenure at YSU, he was named the Mid Continent Conference "Coach of the Year" in 1995 when YSU won a school record 37 games and the Eastern Division of the Mid Continent Conference.  Kubacki's 1997 team is tied for the 2nd most wins in school history with 29 and still ranks as one of the top hitting teams in YSU history. Throughout his tenure as a college baseball coach Kubacki recruited and coached many players that went on to play professional baseball.  

 After resigning from YSU in 1998, Kubacki has worked in Medical Sales and continued to coach baseball in the area while raising his family in Austintown.  He's coached in the Youngstown Class B league and Austintown Community Baseball since leaving YSU.  Dan still lives in Austintown, OH

Andy Timko

Andy Timko comes to DAK with over 20 years of successful coaching at the high school, as well as various travel baseball levels (most recently 18U) leading numerous teams to Palomino and Babe Ruth World Series appearances, USSSA Ohio State Championships, 2 NABF national championships, 3 consecutive Connie Mack state championships, and OHSAA high school state championship appearances.  The all time winningest manager in Youngstown Class B League history, Andy’s teams have won 8 championships—notably setting a league record in 2012 finishing 51-5 overall with the Astro Falcons.  Andy’s expertise in player development as well as his relationships with both collegiate and professional baseball scouts have made him a regionally sought after coach, placing countless student athletes in NCAA Division I and ll programs, as well as facilitating connections leading to multiple Major League draft picks and professional baseball contracts.  Andy’s players have gone on to play for the likes of Duke, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Wake Forest, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, and countless other successful major college baseball programs.  As a player, Andy signed a scholarship to play at the University of Alabama but opted instead to sign with the Baltimore Orioles after being drafted in the 3rd round of the 1980 MLB Draft as a high school senior.  He then went on to play professionally in the Orioles organization from 1980-1984, where he won numerous awards, ultimately being named to the Hagerstown Suns (AA Affiliate of the Orioles) 1980’s All Decade Team.  Andy was elected into the Trumbull County Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.  Andy believes in developing and facilitating the success of local athletes.  He currently lives Boardman, Ohio with his family.

  • Chuck Olesky

    Instructor

    Chuck, a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, has made a mark in the world of baseball, from his early playing days to his current roles as a coach and mentor. His journey reflects a passion for the sport and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of players.

    Chuck's baseball journey began in the competitive atmosphere of Youngstown Class B Baseball. It was there that he showcased his skills on the field. A highlight of his playing was the numerous showings to NABF World Series, Connie Mack Tournament and when they clinched the Championship, at the Babe Ruth World Series.

    Currently serving as the Head JV Coach at McDonald High School, Chuck brings his wealth of experience to guide and inspire young talents.

    Beyond the high school setting, Chuck takes on the responsibility of coaching one of our 9U travel teams, showcasing his commitment to grassroots development. His involvement in youth coaching extends to providing lessons for players of all ages at DAK, in fielding, hitting and outfield.

    Chuck contributions extend beyond wins and losses, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and a love for the game.

    Chuck and his wife Jessica, and their son, are now residing locally in Howland.

  • Brian Kubala

    Instructor

    We wanted to take a moment to highlight the exceptional qualifications and experience of Brian, our pitching coach. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our facility, and we are fortunate to have him as part of our team.

    Brian attended Miami Dade Jr College, and then went on to University of New Mexico where he honed his skills as a baseball player. His dedication and talent led him to play professionally, providing him with invaluable experience at a competitive level of the game. Following his playing career, Brian has devoted over 30 years to coaching, sharing his wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport with aspiring athletes.

    His extensive coaching experience makes him a valuable asset to our facility. Brian's expertise in pitching techniques, strategies, and player development enables him to guide our athletes effectively. He understands the intricacies of the game and knows how to bring out the best in each player he works with.

    Brian is one of the assistant Varsity Baseball Coaches for McDonald High School.

  • Wyatt Larimer

    Instructor

    Wyatt Larimer is a former multi-sport athlete from Berlin Center Western Reserve, where he helped lead the program to its first State Championship appearance and four District Championships. A three-time All-State selection and Northeast Ohio Pitcher of the Year as a senior, Wyatt holds the school’s all-time records for career wins (26–2), ERA (0.69), and strikeouts (243). He also lettered four years in football and two years in basketball, showcasing his all-around athleticism.

    In addition to high school success, Wyatt competed in the Class B league with the Astro Falcons under Coach Timko as part of a USSSA Championship team. He went on to pitch collegiately at Kent State University before continuing briefly at Lake Erie College.

    Wyatt brings the same work ethic and passion to coaching that he did as a player. He specializes in pitching development with a strong focus on arm health, confidence, mechanics, and long-term growth. His goal is to help athletes build durable arms while maximizing performance both on and off the mound.

    Wyatt lives in New Middletown with his wife, Maia, and continues to pursue excellence in both coaching and professional leadership.
